Tue Parade Night Cancelled
  • TUESDAY NIGHT CADETS ONLY(SATELLITE FLIGHT)
  • Please note that your training night next week (Feb 9th) has been cancelled due to a district wide Pro-D Day.
  • We will see you the following week on Feb 16. Level 3s will write their Aviation PC then
Tue+Wed Scholarship Courses
  • There will be one last mock review board session for scholarship applicants on Feb 18. Those interested must contact Lt Chiang to sign up.
  • We are still waiting for official Merit Review Board dates. You will be contacted as soon as they are posted.
 Tue+Wed Squadron Fun Day
  • Sign up for this activity is now full. All those that have signed up have been accepted.
  • On Feb 13, please meet at 0930 at Maillard Middle School. We will be rock climbing first, so be in gym strip and bring a change of clothes for Science World. We will return to Maillard Middle School by 1700.
  • You will be contacted by FSgt Leung or FSgt Chen with waivers that must be signed by parents prior to arrival.
Tues+Wed ACLC 75th Anniversary Poster
  • [important]Order deadline has been extended to Wednesday, February 17[/important]
  • In honour of their 75th Anniversary, the Air Cadet League of Canada has created posters featuring the squadron crests of all the air cadet squadrons in Canada.
  • One unique poster has been made for each province.  You may view them at http://aircadetleague.com/about-us/75th-anniversary/75th-provincial-posters-order/
  • The posters are being offered at the very reasonable price of $2.00 each.
  • To order please complete order form and hand in, with payment, to the Moody squadron office or Maillard Satellite Flight office or to a SSC director.
Tues+Wed Tag Days Fundraiser

February 27 & 28

  • Participation is mandatory for all cadets.  They must sign up for one full day or two half day shifts.  As we are always short  cadets on Saturday, please sign up on Saturday if you are available.
  •  sign ups are posted in the gym on training nights.
  • We need parent drivers and supervisors.  Sign ups are posted in the gym during training nights or email chair754@gmail.com with the day you can drive.  Parent drivers please bring vehicle registration and drivers license with you on tag days.  You will need to record the information in the Drivers Log Book.
  •  Please see Tag Day Information Sheet for important information you should know before the Tag Days weekend. Available in English —  Chinese — Korean translations.
Tue+Wed Effective Speaking
  • Effective Speaking (ES) has begun! Squadron competition will be held on Feb. 25 at Moody Elementary Library.
  • Class lists and information were emailed to all cadets who signed up for ES.

Tue+Wed Post-Secondary Scholarships
  1. 754 Phoenix SSC will again be awarding four $500 post-secondary scholarships to 754 Phoenix cadet who are presently in grade 12,  graduating June 2016, and continuing their education at a post-secondary institution.  Submit your application to a sponsoring committee member or LHQ or satellite flight office by April 6, 2016.
  2. The Air Cadet League of Canada is offering three post-secondary scholarships.  Deadline for application is April 1, 2016.  Go to the ACLC website for more information and an application form.
Tue+Wed Spring Break Gliding/Maintenance
  • Both programs run from 18-28 Mar
  • Those interested in signing up to be a glider pilot during the Spring Break and earning some hours need to speak with their respective training officers before Feb 10 to put in an application.
  • Those interested in signing up for the maintenance portion will need to apply through the BCPC website.
Tue+Wed Band Trip to Alberta
  • The Alberta Band Trip has unfortunately been cancelled. There was not enough interest and funding available. Thank you for those of you that were interested in participating. Please do not bring cheques in to the SSC.
  • If you have already submitted your deposit, please pick it up from the office

  • For those interested in Duke of Ed or have already signed up with CI Ikoma, please email her to ensure she has all the information needed to register for you.

Tue+Wed Mess Dinner Committee Meeting
  • Mess Committee will be meeting on Feb 9 (Tuesday) at the Coquitlam Library (across from Coquitlam Center) from 6:30-8:30 in Rm 137.
  • Those interested in helping plan the Mess Dinner from Tuesday or Wednesday night are welcome to attend.
Tue+Wed High School Work Experience Program
  • The Air Cadet League in partnership with the Aerospace Industry is offering a High School Work Experience Program to cadets 15 years and older in grade 11, or 12 that will provide them the opportunity to gain 40 hours of voluntary work experience in either an aerospace technical maintenance facility or airport operations environment.  This work experience will also fulfill the 30 hours work experience and community service requirement for graduation.
  • Work Experience opportunities will be offered in January, February, March, and April 2016
