27 Nov – Weekly Briefing

We have a number of different activities in the next few weeks before our last evening before Christmas. Skating, our Holiday Party, and a CO’s Parade will round off our year. Training will resume on Wednesday 4 January 2023.

HEALTH UPDATE – We are aware of a large amount of absenteeism in schools this week due to an outbreak of the flu. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CADETS IF YOU ARE SICK! Let us know at this link if you can’t come.

ADJUSTMENT TO START OF TRAINING TIMES – effective Wed 16 Nov, senior cadets (level 5+) will arrive at 1820 hrs – we ask that all other cadets arrive between 1830 and 1840 hrs – we do not want cadets waiting outside in poor weather. Additionally, last week those waiting were very noisy and we do not want to bother the local community.

  • WED 30 NOV – SKATING – 1815-2015 hrs – we will be at the Poirier Rink for the Toonie Skate – dress is civilian clothes – bring your own skates and helmet if you have them – cost of entry and rentals will be provided by the SSC – there is a limit to the number of people allowed on the ice, so if you show up late you may not get on the ice – note the early dismissal time (NOT 2130)
  • MON 5 DEC – BAND TRAINING CANCELLED (school not available)
  • WED 7 DEC – WINTER HOLIDAY PARTY – at Old Orchard Park Hall on Ioco Road in North Port Moody (646 Bentley Rd, Port Moody) – dress is festive, times to be announced
  • MON 12 DEC – BAND TRAINING – 1900-2100 hrs – dress is civilian
  • WED 14 DEC – REGULAR TRAINING / CO’s PARADE – 1820/1830-2130 hrs – winter dress (jacket, shirt, tie, parka if cold) – presentation of Long Service Medals
