IN-PERSON TRAINING CONTINUES– We will be under the same regulations as prior to Christmas (2 levels in-person, 2 levels online, masks on when inside, social distancing required).
RCSU INFORMATION NIGHT – LEVEL 5 CADETS – On Monday the 11th of April at 17:00, the regularly scheduled meeting of the Senior Cadet Council Pacific will be opened to the Senior Cadets of all the Corps and Sqns, in order to provide them with more details on all of the opportunities available to them over the Summer. Please see the Level 5 Channel in Teams for the meeting link. The Regional CWO, CPO1 Miller, will be discussing the Cadet Advisory Council, as well as the Senior Cadet Council Pacific. Capt Zweng will discuss the Cadet Activity Plan (CAP), and Capt Daniels will provide details on the Cadet Training Centers (CTC). Uniform is summer dress (short sleeve shirt).
SSC POST-SECONDARY SCHOLARSHIPS – DEADLINE EXTENDED– These are open to 754 Phoenix RCACS cadet members who are graduating grade 12 this current 2021/2022 school year, will be attending a post-secondary institution within one year of grade 12 graduation, and have not received a 754 Phoenix Sponsoring Committee scholarship in the past. Scholarships will be awarded based mainly on cadet performance and service to 754 Phoenix Squadron and the air cadet program in general. A maximum of four (4) scholarships in the amount of $500 each may be awarded. This scholarship is to be applied to post-secondary tuition only. ANNUAL CEREMONIAL REVIEW – We are working on the details for our year-end Annual Ceremonial Review. This year, we are looking to combine it with our Awards and Promotion night. The ceremony will be on Saturday May 28th in the afternoon (though cadets will be required to attend in the morning as well for practice and set-up) at Terry Fox Secondary School. We have not received information about whether we are allowed spectators, but hope to be able to welcome family by that date.
MON 11 APRIL – BAND – practice from 1900 to 2100 hrs. We will be looking for returning Band members as well as encouraging new members to replenish our ranks. For returning musicians and for cadets interested in joining, we will at the gym at 1900 hrs. Dress is civilian (WITH MASKS!). Please bring your instrument.
WED 13 APRIL – REGULAR TRAINING
- In Person training for Level 1 and Level 3 cadets at 1830 hrs to 2100 hrs
- Online training for Level 2 and Level 4 cadets (classes start at 1900 hrs)
- Dress is winter dress for those with uniform (jacket, tie) or Squadron T-shirt for Level 1’s without uniform yet
MON 18 APRIL – no band due to Easter Monday holiday
WED 20 APRIL – REGULAR TRAINING
- In Person training for Level 2 and Level 4 cadets at 1830 hrs to 2100 hrs
- Online training for Level 1 and Level 2 cadets (classes start at 1900 hrs)
- Dress is winter dress for those with uniform (jacket, tie) or Squadron T-shirt for Level 1’s without uniform yet
CADET 365 ONBOARDING – Level 3 cadets will be receiving instructions next weekend to get onto the Cadet 365 program. Check your emails and Teams for more information.
OTHER NOTES:
- PARKING – parents are NOT to drive onto school property to drop off or pick up cadets. Only staff are allowed to do so. Please make arrangements to pick up and drop off your cadets at the front of the school, or on the street behind the school.
- ABSENCES – if a cadet is going to be absent, please use the absence form here – do not call the Squadron or email. This INCLUDES absences from online classes.
