17 Jan – Level 5 Workshops

In order to complete Level 5 (PO 513), all cadets must participate in a Regional workshop with cadets from other elements and units. Normally this is held on weekends in-person, but due to COVID-19 protocols, we are holding them virtually.

Cadets in Level 5 are required to take 4 workshops. They will run from the end of this month to June. Workshops are either morning or afternoon, and cover the following subjects:

Time Management, Supervision, Ethics, Corrective Actions and Positive Reinforcement, Dynamic Instruction/Learning Environment/Classroom Management, Personal and Group Dynamics, DIgital Responsibility, Team Building, Healthy Relationships, and Communications Tools.

Since no cadets were able to take a workshop last year, I expect that all cadets who are in the second year of Level 5 (i.e. were Level 5 last year) take the full complement of 4 workshops. Cadets in the first year of Level 5 (i.e. were Level 4 last year) should take AT LEAST 2 workshops, but may take all 4 if they can (recommended).

Given the fact we are in an on-line instruction mode at the moment, I would strongly suggest the Dynamic Instruction course be one of your choices!

Cut off time for registering is generally 2 weeks in advance, so any cadets wishing to enroll in the courses on Sat 30 Jan or Sun 31 Jan should email Major Angst at david.angst@cadets.gc.ca as soon as possible.

The schedule of workshops available is posted in Files in the Level 5 Channel on Teams.
